Despite her father's initial reservations, she wholeheartedly pursued her love for music, and together with her father, they created a unique fusion of English and Spanish music that caught the attention of Falcon Records founder Arnaldo Ramirez. She was born on July 5th, 1931, in Weslaco, Texas, inheriting her musical talents from her father, Eugenio 'Tatita' Gutierrez, renowned as the 'Glenn Miller of the Valley.' Delia's musical journey began early, as she started singing in her father's orchestra at 12 years young, even sharing the stage with movie stars at the Benitez Theater in Weslaco.
